The Washington University Record published a very nice article paying tribute to Ira J. Hirsh, Ph.D.,who died on January 12, 2010, of cardiopulmonary failure at Hillcrest Convalescent Center in Durham, N.C. He was 87. Ira had many friends and colleagues at Washington University and Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis and he will be greatly missed. Here is the link to the article: http://news.wustl.edu/news/Pages/20100.aspx.

Flags at Washington University are flying at half mast this week (1/18/10) in honor of Ira's contributions.

Information on memorial donations may be found at the bottom of the article.
